Global Display Solutions (GDS) opens its new EMS Factory in Tunisia
GDS Global Display Solutions officially unveiled its new EMS Factory in Tunisia.
At a ceremony the facility was inaugurated by Minister of Social Affairs, Malek Zahi, in the presence of the Governor of Manouba, Mohamed Cheikhrouhou, the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia, Lorenzo Fanara and the President & CEO of Global Display Solutions Giovanni Cariolato.

The GDS Tunisia plant is built on the concept of flexibility, allowing for the manufacturing of a diverse set of electronic boards, including Smart Interfaces, digital power modules and electronic for IOT solutions.
It will mainly serve GDS’ finished products factories and customers in Europe, working on the principle of a shared centre of excellence on process, capability and human capital aimed at driving economies of scale and sustainable business continuity.
Speaking at the occasion, the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia said, “I’m very proud of the level of innovation of this GDS’ factory in Tunisia. GDS has come here to implement a plant of high technological innovation”.
Sharing his comments, Giovanni Cariolato, President & CEO, of GDS, said , “Today signifies a proud milestone for GDS and to support our customers in a long-term and sustainable way we will invest here not only in technology and machines but mainly in the human resources, with the aim of contributing to the stability and the prosperity of the country too.”
In the first phase of operations, the facility is focused on production of digital boards for smart home appliance interfaces. Plans for phase II of the site, could include manufacturing capability for other businesses such us DOOH, Lighting and Transportation.
